Mechanical Plumbing Estimator

My client, a growing full service electrical and mechanical company within the construction industry, specialising in Commercial, Industrial and Institutional projects, is currently seeking a Mechanical Plumbing Estimator to join their Vancouver Team. From engineering and design to finishing and completion, my client provides the service and expertise to fulfill their clients' construction needs. The successful candidate will have experience working with drawings and specifications plus knowledge of materials and construction methods/techniques in mechanical piping and needs.
Skill Requirements:
Education: Vocational or technical training Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Plumber Trade Certification
Experience: 5 years plus
Languages: Speak English, Read English, Write English
Major Work Area: Estimating, Quantity surveying
Type of Experience:, Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, Structural, Mechanical, Architectural
Project Size Estimating Experience: $ 500,001 - $1,500,000+
Business Equipment and Computer Applications: Estimating packages, Excel, Outlook, Acubid, or similar, PDF/Adobe or similar
Specific Skills: Must have the ability to look at drawings and estimate a project. Prepare estimates of labour and material costs, Prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers and contractors, Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads, Select sub-trades, Advise on tendering procedures (large scale), Set up cost monitoring and reporting system
Additional Skills: Excellent communication and customer service skills, Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications
Security and Safety: Bondable
Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation

This role is a permanent position and will offer great autonomy and future opportunity for the right candidate. The position is regular working hours 8-4, and salary is dependent upon experience from $30 - $40 hour or more if a Senior candidate.
